The watch parties started as a weekly listing of live jazz and live music events in the area. But the Coronavirus or COVIC-19 kicked in right at Jazz Appreciation Month (April).
At first the virus was considered as an epidemic (short term and localized) but before the month was over the virus became an international pandemic.
The effect was that it more or less put a screeching halt to live jazz and most/all live music events and venues. This left a deep void for those of us who love to make and listen to live music.
No one really knows how long this will last or what to do. Therefore the next best thing is to offer virtual live concerts on Friday nights when most live jazz events would take place.
Believe me, that area venue owners, producers and promoters are working hard to seek alternative ways to bringing the entertainment and we are hoping and praying that all of this will come to a resolution as soon as possible.
Every Friday a link to the YouTube watch party is distributed by email. We offer live concerts or clips from live performances, as well as, interviews. Sometimes we zoom in on a particular artist and other times we combine multiple artist of a common art form into a "Theme".
YouTube has afforded us flexibility - Watch time is usually 7:00 pm EST but you have a choice:
In addition to watch anytime - anywhere. We can skip sections, we can repeat ones that we really like, or we can pause and return later.
* Click on the link and access the playlist then click on the "Play All" link and/or arrow

The Power of YouTube
Since the inception of YouTube, many rare videos have surfaced for our enjoyment. Whenever we find one of these rare gems, we include them in the watch party. If the artist is still on this plane we will feature the artist then and now.
Diverse Art Forms - Indulge us please
From time to time we will offer concerts and clips from other arts forms or other styles and other genres of music. These other arts forms and genres may include dance, classical and popular music. We may even include clips from our fellow international artist.
Remember jazz of today was popular music of yesterday.
